Thirty-seven Henderson County High School Career and Technical Education seniors signed on with local businesses at the annual Career Signing Event on Thursday evening.

The event allows CTE students to publicly declare their plans post-graduation, according to a release from Henderson County Schools.

This year, students signed with 21 local businesses.

“This event marks a significant milestone in the journey of our graduating seniors as they commit to their chosen career paths,” said Amanda Lacer, the CTE unit principal at HCHS.

According to the release, the HCHS CTE unit is one of the largest single CTE programs in the state of Kentucky. It offers a program of study in the following Career Pathways: Agriculture, Business, Construction, Engineering and Technology, Family and Consumer Science, Health Science, Information Technology, Law and Public Safety, Manufacturing Technology, Marketing, Media Arts, Transportation, and Welding.

“The Career Signing Event is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students and the support they receive from our dedicated staff. Through hands-on learning experiences, industry partnerships, and professional certifications, the HCHS CTE unit prepares our students for success,” states Bob Lawson, superintendent of Henderson County Schools.
