The Henderson City Commission approved the appointment of Henderson native Jessa Brandon as deputy city clerk at Tuesday’s meeting.
Brandon is a graduate of Henderson County High School and Murray State University where she earned a degree in business administration, according to a release from the city.
She most recently worked for the city’s code enforcement team as an office assistant and the Henderson City-County Planning Commission as an account technician.
In her role as account technician, Brandon handled all financial and HR matters for the Henderson City-County Planning Commission, said the release.
She will fill the role being vacated after nearly 30 years by City Clerk Maree Collins upon her retirement later this year.
For the remainder of Collins’ time with the city, she will train Brandon to take over her role.
“I look forward to learning and gathering wisdom from Maree during our time together,” Brandon said. “I’m very excited to serve my community through the role of Deputy City Clerk”.
Brandon resides in Henderson with her two daughters, Evie and Flora. She will begin her employment as deputy city clerk on Aug. 5.
