Bentley Simpson | Boys Track and Field | Athlete of the Week for week ending March 14
Henderson County’s Bentley Simpson has been named this week’s Athlete of the Week after a standout performance at the Colonel Classic on March 14.
Simpson delivered one of the top discus throws in the state at the season-opening meet, launching a mark of 136-04 to place among the leading performers in the region.
The senior thrower has been a consistent force in the circle for the Colonels this season, building on strong early momentum for Henderson County.
Simpson shared his thoughts on being selected:
“First of all, I want to say I’m thrilled to be picked for athlete of the week. I love competing for Henderson County and putting in work for the team and myself to be the best I can. These three years of my life mean so much to me. The coaches and friends I’ve made have made it all worth it. I will continue to put in my best effort to represent Henderson’s county and to try to set a record and win meets. I want to thank my coach Wes Fehrenbacher for teaching me everything I know and making me the best athlete and competitor I can be. It’s my senior year and I’m gonna make it the best. Thank you for choosing me for Athlete of the Week.”
