Black was the number one offensive option for the Henderson County Lady Colonels soccer team in September. Her outstanding and consistent performance helped the Lady Cols to eight victories during the month. As of September 28, Black had scored 18 goals and added four assists. On top of that, the freshman was able to collect four hat tricks during that span.

Black on her strong September: “I’m so humbled to be named Athlete of the Month. This means a lot, and I’m grateful to my coaches, teammates, and everyone who supports me on and off the pitch. This is a team sport, and I couldn’t do it without the best team and coaches in the region. I’ll continue to push myself, stay focused, and represent HCHS Colonels with pride.”

Head Coach Ben Dempsey on his star forward: “McKinley is a tireless worker that is a great teammate and is always a threat. Her consistency over the season has been a driving force for us to continue to be a strong team in western Kentucky. She is setting a standard for herself that for many years she aims to be a dynamic goal scorer for the future, as well as the here and now.”
