Some utility bills are delayed

The city of Henderson says some residents may experience significant delays in receiving utility bills through the mail and those who do are asked to call the city who will work to waive late fees.

“The city understands the inconvenience and frustration this has caused residents and seeks to assure them immediate action is being taken to support those affected,” said a release from the city.

City staff will work with affected customers to waive any applicable late fees, said the release.

The number to call is 270-831-1200.

The city also said that residents may want to look at paperless bill and automatic payment options because both provide convenient and reliable ways to receive and pay utility bills.

For more information on how to sign up for these services, residents can visit the City’s website at bit.ly/hendersonkyonlinebilling.

CSX plans blockage on Main Street in Sebree Monday; blockages also scheduled in Henderson

CSX Railroad is planning upcoming maintenance that will impact crossings along state, county, city and private roads at several locations in Henderson and Webster counties in upcoming weeks, said a release from the state Transportation Cabinet.

The first will be Monday in Sebree.

A maintenance crew working for the railroad will block the KY 56 (Main Street) crossing at the 12.35 mile point in Sebree starting Monday. A marked detour will be in place, directing traffic to use KY 132 from downtown Sebree and KY 494 west of town to travel between U.S. 41 and KY 56.

This is expected to be a 2- to 3-day blockage.

CSX also plans maintenance work on three other state roads in the coming weeks, including KY 494 south of Sebree in Webster County, as well as KY 416 and KY 283 in Henderson County. The dates of those blockages have not been announced yet.

Non-state roadways that could be affected by upcoming work include Slaughters-Elmwood Road, West Dixon Street, East Webster Street and East Jefferson Street in Webster County, and Cherry Hill Road, Schuette Lane, Henderson Yard Road, Airline Road, Powell Road and Washington Street in Henderson.
