HCPL hosts Veterans Resource Fair June 20

The Henderson County Public Library will be hosting a Veterans’ Resource Fair from 1-4 p.m. on Friday, June 20.

The library says that the Veteran Resource Fair offers valuable resources and information to active-duty military troops, veterans, and their families.

Many organizations that provide support services specifically designed to meet the needs of veterans and their loved ones will be showcased. The Veteran Resource Fair is a free event, and no registration is required, according to HCPL.

Some of the organizations that will be involved are:

  • American Legion
  • Audubon Area Community Services
  • Black Pearl Home Care
  • Evansville Vet Center
  • Freedom Senior Services
  • Hives for Heroes
  • Homeplace of Henderson
  • Oak Street Health
  • St. Anthony’s
  • Senior Helpers

City High class of 1975 50th reunion will be in August

The graduates of Henderson City High School Class of 1975 will take a walk down memory lane to the year when “Saturday Night Live” premiered and bell bottoms were fashion-forward at a reunion in August.

The City High Class of 1975 50th reunion is set for 5 p.m. on Aug. 23. It will take place at the home of Roger and Linda Meuth, 8397 Tillman-Bethel Road, Henderson.

The cost is $25 per person (non-refundable after Aug. 9). Payments by check can be sent to Nora Hobson, 1990 Wesley Drive, Henderson, KY 42420. Thomason’s BBQ will be the caterer.

A link to the class reunion registration form is available at the Henderson City High Class of ‘75 Facebook page, which has already started the “memory lane stroll” with vintage photos and interactive posts.

HPD wants help in finding car thieves

Henderson police are asking for help in finding car thieves who stole three cars in the overnight hours from May 28-May 29.

HPD sent out a release saying police believe suspects were captured on home camera systems at multiple addresses. Police are asking residents in two areas to check cameras for any suspicious activities.

The first area is north of Hwy 60 between Barret Boulevard and Watson Lane.

The second area is north of Zion Road between Larue Road and Spring Garden Road.

Police said that if a resident in either area has video, contact police via 911 and an officer will be dispatched to the location.

HPD said it has increased patrols increased patrols and encourages people to lock their vehicles, remove keys and key fobs and keep valuables out of plain sight.
