HPD is working with Indiana authorities in investigation of death of a Henderson woman

The Henderson Police Department is working a death investigation involving a female whose body was initially located in Indiana, said a Wednesday HPD news release.

The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Kristina Robison.

The investigation began after Robison’s body was located at Bluegrass Fish and Wildlife area in Warrick County, Indiana, said the release.

With the joint investigative efforts between the Indiana State Police and HPD detectives, investigators have recently developed information that the death occurred in Henderson, shifting the focus of the investigation here.

Detectives learned the person of interest became startled and took Robison to Bluegrass Fish and Wildlife area and left her, said the release.

The man was later located and arrested for unrelated drug charges and outstanding warrants. He is being held at Knox County detention center.

A toxicology report will be performed to determine the official cause of death, said the release.

HPD said this is a complex, multi-state investigation, and the department is working closely with the ISP to piece together the events that led to Robison’s death.

Old Madisonville Road will be blocked for two weeks starting Nov. 17

A utility provider will be blocking Old Madisonville Road in Henderson beginning Monday, November 17, said a release from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

The blockage will be at the intersection of Old Madisonville Road and Gregory Drive.

A detour will be in place utilizing Ky. 1299, Ky. 425 (Henderson Bypass) and Ky 136, said the release.

The blockage is expected to be in place for approximately two weeks.

New portion of I-69 opened this weekend

The final major elements of Section 1 of the Ohio River Crossing in Henderson opened to traffic Saturday.

The new connections will expedite travel times, improve connectivity, and improve safety, said a release from the I-69 Ohio River Crossing.

The openings include the new Ky. 3690, which is the 2 ½ mile stretch of future I-69 roadway; the new U.S. 60 interchange in final configuration; the new U.S. 41 interchange in full operation; and a new, relocated Kimsey Lane.

The roadway is nearly 2 ½ miles long and connects the new U.S. 41 interchange with the new U.S. 60 interchange.

According to I-69 ORX, it will be an important connector on the new corridor and will be signed as I-69 when the future bridge opens to traffic. It was the site of the ribbon cutting led by Gov. Andy Beshear and local officials earlier this week, along with a community celebration and walk to mark the substantial completion of Section 1 construction in Henderson.

 Additionally, from I-69 ORX:

  • The new U.S. 60 interchange features three roundabouts and will facilitate moving traffic on and off I-69 when the interstate is constructed. It currently moves traffic east and west along U.S. 60 and connects Tillman Bethel Road to U.S. 60.
  • The U.S. 41 interchange is opening in its long-term interim configuration and includes two additional ramps to facilitate movement from the new roadway (KY 3690) to and from U.S. 41. In its final configuration when the I-69 bridge opens to traffic, U.S. 41 will be an exit off I-69.
  • Kimsey Lane is reopening. It closed in summer 2022 to accommodate construction, including the closure of Kimsey Lane over U.S. 41 and access to Merrill Trail. The closures allowed crews to build the new U.S. 41 interchange. Drivers can access the new, relocated Kimsey Lane via Van Wyk Road.

Only finishing touches and punch list items will continue into early 2026, said the release.
