Wathen Lane section will be closed till April 30

A section of Wathen Lane located between the intersection of Wolf Hills Boulevard and the intersection at the entrance of Braxton Park will be closed to through traffic for ongoing construction work until April 30, said the city of Henderson in a news release.

The closure will be between Wolf Hills Boulevard and the entrance to Braxton Park, said the release.

The city said the construction may cause temporary delays and are asking for the community’s patience and cooperation, said a release.

Updates regarding the progress of construction and any changes to the expected reopening date will be provided through local media channels, the city’s website, and social media pages, said the release.

Henderson Municipal Gas high-pressure valve replacement project to cause road closures

The Henderson Municipal Gas department has announced a temporary road closure along Merritt Drive, just past the 12th Street intersection, to replace a high-pressure valve, said a release from the city of Henderson. The project will occur from March 24-March 28, said the release.

The closure will affect both inbound and outbound traffic behind Deaconess Henderson Hospital, said the release.

Because of the location of the construction, Atkinson Park will be closed for the duration of the project, said the city. The park’s exit will be inaccessible and the road through the park is one-way, making it impossible to accommodate traffic during the closure, said the city.

“We understand that this closure may cause some delays and we appreciate the public’s cooperation,” said HMG Director Tim Clayton. “The valve replacement is crucial for maintaining the safety and efficiency of the City’s gas infrastructure. We encourage all drivers to follow the posted detours and use alternate routes where possible.”

Residents and hospital visitors are advised to plan ahead and follow the posted detour signs to avoid possible delays during the road closure, said the release.
