Why did you decide to run for this office?
My entire adult life has been dedicated to serving the people of Henderson, Kentucky. I remain committed to doing what is best for Henderson. However, in recent years, I have seen too much self-interest in leadership. I believe our community deserves servant leadership that puts you, the people, first.
My commitment to service in Henderson is not new. In 2004, I filed to run against Gross Clay Lindsay for State Representative but withdrew due to complications from thyroid cancer. I have served as a volunteer for over 30 years at the Henderson County Detention Center, 12+ years with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate, serving as the voice of a child in cases of dependency, neglect, and abuse), 5 years as an interviewer for Christian Community Outreach, and 5 years on the Foster Care Review Board.
I am the Founder and President of Infinite Hope Kentucky (Suicide prevention and postvention for Henderson, Webster, and Union Counties). I served as a LOSS Team member (2023–2025), responding as a first responder to suicides in Henderson, Webster, and Union Counties. I trained at Saddleback Church and started the first Celebrate Recovery program at Chapel Hill Church, as well as Celebrate Recovery at the Henderson County Detention Center. I also served on the Board of Good News Jail and Prison Ministry.
At this stage of my life, drawing on both personal and professional experience, I want to serve the people of Henderson as Mayor. I see it as an honor and a service, not a job.
Why do you believe you are the best choice for this seat?
Through decades of involvement in our community across multiple areas of service, combined with broad professional business experience and a natural ability to connect with people, I believe I am the better choice to serve as Mayor. I want to do what is best for Henderson and am not interested in choices that would be self-serving.
What are your top priorities for next term, if elected?
- Suppress Drug Traffic and Support HPD
Suppress drug trafficking in our community and provide stronger support for the Henderson Police Department, particularly in the area of mental health resources.
- Support Business Growth and Accessibility
Advance efforts to ensure businesses along U.S. 41 North and downtown Henderson remain easily accessible amid anticipated traffic pattern changes from I-69.
- Address Men’s Addiction in Henderson
Establish a local addiction treatment center for men to ensure those seeking recovery can receive help close to home.
- Reverse Population Decline and Promote Growth
Lead an effort to attract new residents and businesses by strengthening economic opportunity. Henderson should be a business-friendly city where families and entrepreneurs want to invest and stay.
A brief final statement about your candidacy.
I have often described myself as a “Professional Volunteer,” because service has never been a title; it has been a calling. Throughout my life, I have chosen to work in areas where the needs are great and the challenges are real, stepping into spaces many would rather avoid.
Helping others live more full and hopeful lives is my passion. Serving Henderson has been the work of my life, and I would be honored to continue that service as your Mayor.
