The Henderson County High School football Cols were overpowered Friday night in a 40-14 loss at Gibson Southern in Fort Branch, Ind.

The Titans, the 4th-ranked team in Indiana Class 3A before the matchup, bettered the Colonels in every statistical category—except penalties.

Notably Gibson Southern gained 212 rushing yards on 51 carries, while HCHS gained 11 on 20 carries. The Colonel running attack was hampered by the loss of running back Kingston Shidler, who left the game in the first quarter with an injury.

The Colonels will regroup this week and prepare for a homecoming matchup against Daviess County 7 p.m. Friday at Colonel Stadium.
