The Henderson County Recycling Center will open on the second Saturday of each month starting in March, according to a release from Henderson County Solid Waste and Recycling.

It will be open from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.

According to the release, this is a trial run and if it becomes an issue, it will be shut down. Only the drive-thru of the center will be open, and officials urge residents not to bring large amounts of cardboard. Only one employee, the solid waste coordinator, will work on these days, said the release.

It is an opportunity for people who can’t make it to the recycling center during normal business hours to bring recycling in, said the release.

The first Saturday it will be open is March 9, said the release.
