Across Henderson County’s three-game playoff run in November, Jack Dalton delivered the kind of production needed to take the underdog Colonels to the Region Championship. The junior totaled 208 rushing yards, four touchdowns, and added an interception on defense. His breakout came in the win over McCracken County, where he accounted for all four of those touchdowns and turned the game on its head.
Dalton averaged more than 5.3 yards per carry during the month, consistently turning routine touches into momentum-shifting plays.
Dalton on his performances: “I am honored to be chosen as Athlete of the Month, and thank you to everyone who nominated me. Our football team really ended the year strongly, making it all the way to the Regional Championship game. Nobody outside of our program believed that we could make as far as we did. But we knew as a team what we were capable of doing, and that is a testament to how tightly-knit we were. I am so proud of our team this year and what we accomplished, but I am already looking forward to next year. The Colonels are coming for the Region Title next year, so be ready.”
