Fifth Third Bank’s “eBus” will be at Audubon Kids Zone 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday to help area residents with banking and financial needs.
Assistance will be provided in setting up a checking account, and attendees can also participate in face-to-face consultations, computer workstations and other services, according to a release from Fifth Third and the Habitat for Humanity of Henderson, which along with Community 4 Good and AKZ is partnering with the bank.
Britney Smith, the executive director of the Habitat for Humanity of Henderson, said bank employees will be able to run a soft credit report for residents and then advise them based on the results. If a more in-depth meeting is needed, that can be set up at the local Fifth Third bank branch, she said.
People will be helped first-come, first-serve, Smith said.
According to a bank release, Fifth Third’s Financial Empowerment Mobile, or the “eBus,” brings financial access and education directly into communities, especially underserved areas.
Additionally the “eBus” has on board SpringFour, which can connect users to more than 24,000 free local, statewide and national financial wellness resources from nonprofit and government agencies, said the release. Support categories include food savings, rental resources, childcare, employment services, small business support and more.
A search on SpringFour using only a zip code and category provides instant, localized results for human and social service organizations, said the release.
Those who attend will also be entered in a drawing for $50 gift cards from Walmart, Sureway and the Henderson Chamber of Commerce, said the release.
If this event shows that there’s more need in town, then future events will be scheduled, Smith said.
AKZ is located at 1325 Powell Street.
