Steps to Reclaim, Rebuild, and Recover

List compiled with information from the United Way of Henderson County and the Henderson County Office of Emergency Management.

If you were affected by the flood and need help cleaning up, they can connect you with volunteers from relief organizations. This is a free service, but help is not guaranteed.

Pick up supplies or request a delivery:

4 Good Community at 1900 U.S. Hwy 41-Strip

Monday–Friday: 8 a.m.–4 p.m.

Every other Saturday: 10 a.m.-12 noon

Can’t make it? Call United Way at (270) 826-2107. UW will arrange to get supplies to you.

Urgent housing or emergency needs:

Kentucky Emergency Management Hotline: Call (502) 607-6665 or visit tinyurl.com/kyflood2025

American Red Cross: Call 1-800-RED-CROSS for immediate shelter or support

Apply for FEMA assistance if your home, belongings, or income were affected, you may qualify for assistance with temporary housing, repairs, or disaster-related expenses. Apply online at DisasterAssistance.gov or call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362 (Available 7 a.m. – 10 p.m. daily)

A Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) will be opening soon at The Salvation Army, 1213 Washington Street, Henderson.

Transportation options will be communicated after opening.

Tip: Even if you’ve already cleaned up, you may still be eligible. Take photos of damage and save all receipts.

Get local help through United Way and the and the LTRG. Call United Way at (270) 826-2107 to complete a simple Recovery Intake. UW will connect you with support for FEMA paperwork and appeals, utilities, groceries, housing assistance, childcare items, transportation, medication, and volunteer cleanup teams.

St. Vincent de Paul, 116 N. Alvasia St., 270-827-4138 (clothing, furniture)

Audubon Area Community Services, 417 S. Main St., 270-826-6071 (utilities)

Answer Center, 2360 Green River Road, 270-827-9888 (clothing, household necessities)
