A former Henderson police officer is facing multiple charges related to the alleged assault of a family member.
Troy Brown, 42, Corydon—who city officials said worked for the Henderson Police Department from March 20, 2023, until he resigned on June 24, 2025—has been arrested twice since late December in connection with this incident.
According to an arrest citation obtained from the Henderson Judicial Center, it was in the early hours of Dec. 27 that Brown and a family member were involved in an argument.
As the argument escalated, Brown allegedly threw his phone multiple times. At one point Brown threw the phone and it struck the family member, cutting the relative’s hand, the court document said.
Also during the argument, Brown accessed a loaded Glock handgun and walked around the room holding the weapon, the citation said. Amid the argument, Brown placed the Glock on a hard surface, pointing the barrel of the gun toward the family member, the court papers said.
Law enforcement responded to the scene, and Brown was arrested on fourth-degree assault (domestic violence, minor injury), which is a Class A misdemeanor, and a felony charge of first-degree wanton endangerment.
However, three days later, Brown returned to the relative’s house, according to a second arrest citation.
On Dec. 30, the family member called 911 reporting that Brown had violated an emergency protective order in two ways—by contacting the relative, and then coming to that person’s residence, court documents said.
Law enforcement arrived at the family member’s home around 7 p.m. and found Brown at the dwelling, the arrest citation said.
He was again taken into custody and charged with violation of conditions of release, and violation of a Kentucky EPO/DVO. Both offenses are Class A misdemeanors.
On Jan. 7, a preliminary hearing was held in Henderson District Court. At that time, it was determined the case would be heard on Feb. 10 by a Henderson County Grand Jury.
Brown is being held at the Henderson County Detention Center without bond.
