Henderson County’s unemployment rate plummeted in December compared with one year earlier, the Kentucky Center for Statistics reported Thursday.

The jobless rate here in December 2025 was 3.7%, down from 5.0% in December 2024, the state agency said.

That compared with a statewide average of 5.0% and the U.S. jobless rate of 4.1%

An estimated 18,811 Henderson County residents were employed in December, an increase of 394 from one year earlier.

Meanwhile, 716 people here were classified as unemployed but actively seeking work, 247 fewer than one year earlier. They don’t include unemployed people who hadn’t looked for a job within the previous four weeks.
