Local government and business officials officially cut the ribbon on the Henderson City-County Airport runway expansion project on Wednesday, Feb. 11. The six-month project started last summer and finished up before Christmas. Holding the scissors is the airport’s general manager, Emily Herron. To her right is former airport general manager Allen Bennett, who began the long process of getting the runway extended during his time at the airport. Read a previous Hendersonian story about the runway’s re-opening here.
