Emmy Sword delivered outstanding all-around performances throughout October for the Henderson County Lady Colonels’ volleyball team.

Sword led the team with 31 aces, while also adding the third-most kills with 61. On defense, she was second with 120 digs.

Sword’s contributions helped guide the Lady Cols to the Sixth District Championship over Webster County, 3-0. In the game, Sword had six kills, nine digs, a block, and an ace. She was also named to both the All-District and All-District Academic Teams.

The Lady Colonels advanced to the state tournament but lost in the first round to Apollo, 3-1.
