Those interested in being an extra in a holiday movie that will be filmed in downtown Henderson at the end of January can send information via email to the movie’s email account, said a Thursday release from the Henderson Tourist Commission.
According to the release, local extras are being considered. Interested individuals should email a headshot, name, age, phone number and availability to hollyjollymovie@gmail.com.
Louisville production company Goldenrod Film & TV will begin filming the movie, titled “Holly Jolly,” on Jan. 29, and production will occur in Henderson and Owensboro over a one-week schedule, with the crew spending three to four days in Henderson, said the release.
This project is a direct result of the reinstated and expanded Kentucky Entertainment Incentive tax credits and the community’s joining of the West Kentucky Film Commission in 2025, reflecting the region’s growing appeal for film and television production, according to the Henderson Tourist Commission.
“Bringing ‘Holly Jolly’ to downtown Henderson is a festive win for our community, showcasing our historic streetscapes while supporting local jobs, small businesses, and regional tourism,” said Abby Dixon, executive director of the Henderson Tourist Commission. “This production reflects the momentum created by Kentucky’s enhanced film incentives and our partnership with the West Kentucky Film Commission. We are excited to welcome the cast and crew to our storybook town.”
