Donna Warren was named the Henderson Chamber of Commerce interim director Friday.
Warren replaces Lindsay Locasto, who was appointed at the end of the year as deputy mayor of Evansville in newly elected Mayor Stephanie Terry’s administration.
Warren, currently the events coordinator with the chamber, has more than 30 years of experience with the organization and brings a deep understanding of the business landscape, said a release from the chamber.
“We’re very excited about Donna accepting the role,” said Eric Gardner, the chair of the chamber board, adding she knows “all the ins and outs” of the local business community.
Gardner said he’s expecting the hiring process for Locasto’s replacement will take three months and hopes a new president will be named by May 1.
He said the chamber board will follow the same hiring process it did two years ago when Locasto was hired.
The chamber board will work with the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Executive, which will conduct a national search, Gardner said. Then KCCE will conduct a first round of interviews and narrow the candidate list to three, he said. Those three will then be interviewed by the local chamber board, he said.
The chamber president salary is listed in the $60,000 to $70,000 range, Gardner said.
Gardner said he’ll discuss the specifics of the job and search with KCCE officials early this week and believes the job will be posted by the end of the week.
