Chandler students win statewide stock market game

A.B. Chandler Elementary students Heaven Hurtz and Tracy Toews won the Fall 2024 statewide session of the SIFMA Foundation Stock Market Game.

They competed with other elementary schools across the state and achieved the highest portfolio value in the competition, said a release from Henderson County Schools.

During the course of the game, they demonstrated research, critical thinking and analytical skills in financial decision-making, said the release.

School Board Appreciation Month

The state of Kentucky recognizes January as School Board Member Appreciation Month. This special month allows us to honor and thank these leaders for their tireless efforts to support the success of our schools and students.

“On behalf of our community, I extend my deepest gratitude to the Henderson County Board of Education members for their service and commitment to our children’s future. They are more than elected officials; they are the bridge between our community and its schools. Their decisions shape policies, establish priorities, and create the foundation for excellence for our school district.” Dr. Bob Lawson, Superintendent of Henderson County Schools.
