A Henderson man who led police on a high-speed chase Thursday was arrested on several charges.
Dayton Utley Gray, 20, was charged with speeding more than 26 miles per hour, reckless driving, first-degree fleeing or evading police and receiving stolen property, said a court document.
According to the document, the Henderson Police Department and Henderson County Sheriff’s Office personnel were pursuing a stolen 2008 Ford Edge that was traveling more than 100 miles per hour east on the Audubon Parkway Thursday after 8 a.m.
As the car moved closer to the Daviess County line, the officers requested help from Kentucky State Police. A trooper joined the chase at about the 16-mile marker, said the document.
The car then “slowed and swerved between both lanes before stopping in the emergency lane near the Sargent Drive subdivision,” said the document.
Gray told police that the car had run out of gas, said the document. He also said he was not aware the car was stolen, said the document. He was lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center.
