One of Matthew 25 AIDS Services’ big fundraisers, BBQ, Bourbon & Burlesque, will be Saturday, Sept. 20, at Warehouse 410 in Evansville.
The event features barbecue provided by Henderson favorites Homer’s BBQ and Thomason’s as well as Lonestar BBQ out of Evansville, according to a release from Matthew 25.
The event also features bourbon tastings from Green River Distilling and a burlesque performance by The Drop Dead Darlings.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m., said Rachel Trout, Matthew 25’s public relations and fundraising specialist.
The release said that all proceeds benefit Matthew 25 AIDS Services, a nonprofit organization dedicated “to providing high-quality care, education, prevention and support services to individuals and families impacted by HIV.”
Funds raised will directly support the clinic’s life-saving programs, including medical care, prevention education and vital support services for clients across western Kentucky and southern Indiana, said the release.
Trout said in an email that the event is being held in Indiana in an attempt to gain new supporters from the 12 counties Matthew 25 serves in that state. Proceeds from the event will benefit all Matthew 25 locations in Indiana and western Kentucky, she said.
“BBQ, Bourbon & Burlesque is more than just a unique night out—it’s an opportunity to make an impact,” said Trout. “Every ticket purchased and every dollar raised helps Matthew 25 continue providing compassionate care and resources to our community.”
