Cameron Mills, a former University of Kentucky basketball player from the 1990s era, will be the guest speaker at First United Methodist Church on Sunday, April 7.
Mills is the founder of Cameron Mills Ministries, which for 25 years has enabled him to travel and share his personal faith testimony with others.
The former basketball star experienced his “Kentucky dream” by following in his father’s footsteps playing basketball at UK. From 1994 to 1998, Mills and his teammates played in three NCAA Final Fours, three NCAA National Championship games and won two National Championships beating Syracuse in 1996 and Utah in 1998.
He became UK’s all-time leader in three-point percentage for a career at 47.46 percent as well as the all-time leader at the time in three-point percentage for a season at 53.2 percent.
Mills lives in Lexington with his wife, Susan, and works in the healthcare industry as vice president and chief culture officer for LHC Group, a national home health and hospice company that serves in 38 states and has more than 900 locations, including 52 in Kentucky. He also does radio commentary for UK basketball.
Mills will speak at a service that will begin at 10 a.m. on April 7. Congregation members are encouraged to wear UK blue and white on this special Sunday to honor Mills’ UK connection. A fellowship meal will be available following the service.
