The DHH Community Program Fund is a result of the merger of Methodist Hospital and Deaconess Health System. With the merger, funds were approved to be used to promote the health and well-being of the citizens of Henderson County, said a release from Deaconess.
“At Deaconess Henderson Hospital, we believe our mission extends beyond the walls of our facility,” Deaconess Henderson Hospital CAO Linda White said. “These grant recipients are doing vital work to address the health challenges our community faces—whether it’s mental health, substance use, access to care or chronic disease.”
Grant monies are going to organizations addressing the four areas identified in the current Henderson County Community Health Needs Assessment. These areas include mental health, substance abuse, obesity/diabetes and health equity/access, said the release. They focus on improving the quality of life for Henderson County families as well as promoting wellness, providing access to health screenings and preventing illness, according to the release.
