Deaconess Henderson Hospital Advisory Board has announced its second annual grant cycle for nonprofit organizations located in Henderson County.
Twenty-five thousand dollars will be awarded through the Deaconess Henderson Hospital Community Program Fund.
The DHH Community Program Fund is a result of the merger of Methodist Hospital and Deaconess Health System, according to a release from Deaconess.
At the time of the merger, funds were approved to be used each year to promote the health and well-being of the citizens of Henderson County, said the release.
Grant proposals will be accepted from all interested nonprofit organizations serving Henderson County, said the release.
The grant application window will run from February 1-29; winners will be announced in March.
Grant money will go to those organizations addressing the four areas identified in the current Henderson County Community Health Needs Assessment, which include mental health, substance abuse, obesity/diabetes and health equity/access. Grants should also focus on improving the quality of life for Henderson County families, said the release.
Other health-related community programs such as those promoting wellness, providing access to health screenings and preventing illness will also be considered, said the release.
