The Henderson Lions Club awarded grants to numerous organizations throughout Henderson and Henderson County on Aug. 6 and 13. Below is a list of recipients and the grant amount supplied by the club.                                     

  • Henderson County Diabetes Coalition: $3,500
  • Salvation Army: $3,500
  • Henderson Recreation Association: $500
  • Bluegrass in the Park: $1,000
  • Boys and Girls Club of Henderson: $1,000
  • Brain In jury Adventure Camp: $2,000
  • College Foundation (on behalf of HCC): $1,000
  • Distinguished Young Women of Henderson County: $1,000
  • East End Community Table at Bennett Memorial Church: $1,500
  • Elevate WKY: $1,000
  • Experiencing Autism Together: $1,000
  • Father Bradley Shelter for Women and Children: $1,500
  • Habitat for Humanity: $1,000
  • Harbor House Christian Men’s Center: $2,000
  • Healing Reins of Kentucky: $1,000
  • Henderson AZK Gain Initiative: $1,000
  • Henderson Arts Alliance: $1,000
  • Henderson Christian Community Outreach: $1,000
  • Henderson City/County Rescue Squad: $1,000
  • Henderson Homeless Coalition: $500
  • Henderson Happy Feet: $1,000
  • Henderson Juneteenth Celebration: $,1000
  • Henderson Education Foundation Imagination Library: $1,000
  • Henderson Leadership Initiative: $1,500

  • Marsha’s Place Pregnancy Resource Center: $1,000

  • North Middle School Youth Services Center: $1,000

  • Sons of Henderson (Summerfest and Wiffleball Classic): $1,000

  • St. Anthony’s Hospice: $1,000
  • Volunteer and Information Center: $1,000

In addition, $5,000 is held in reserve for any other needs that may come up during the year, said the club.
