Police found nothing suspicious or hazardous at the Henderson County Public Library after an employee there found a handwritten bomb threat before it opened Thursday morning.
HCPL delayed its regular opening time, allowing Henderson police to investigate the building and grounds, which turned up nothing, said Henderson Police Department Public Information Officer Jason Cullum.
The local department then called the Evansville Police Department, which sent a K9 unit. Cullum said a second search using the K9 also turned up nothing.
After determining the building was safe, HCPL was opened at 10:30 a.m.
Cullum said he couldn’t reveal the location where the note was found inside the building or if a name was signed on it because of the investigation’s ongoing status.
