At St. Anthony’s, volunteers are more than helpers—they are the heart of our mission. Every day, these generous men and women give their time, talents, and compassion to make life brighter for patients and families during some of their most challenging moments.

Some volunteers sit quietly at a bedside, offering the gift of presence. Others deliver meals, run errands, or lend a listening ear to a family member who just needs someone to talk to. Many share their hobbies and talents—baking cookies, playing music, reading aloud, or crafting keepsakes that create lasting memories. No matter how big or small the task, volunteers remind families that they are not alone.

What makes hospice volunteering so special is the impact it has on both sides. Families often tell us how much comfort they receive from a volunteer’s kindness, while volunteers share how meaningful it feels to be part of such an important journey. In giving their time, they receive something priceless in return: the knowledge that they made a difference.

At St. Anthony’s, we believe that hospice is not just about medical care—it’s about community. Volunteers embody that belief by bringing warmth, dignity, and compassion into every interaction. Their presence eases burdens, lifts spirits, and reminds us all of the power of human connection.

If you have ever considered volunteering, we welcome you with open arms. A few hours of your time each month can bring immeasurable comfort to a family in need. To learn more about how to become a volunteer, visit stanthonyshospice.org or call (270) 826-2326.
