Spottsville Elementary was the winning school at Thursday’s Rotary Field Day.
Second place went to South Heights, followed by Holy Name.
Fourth was Bend Gate and fifth was Niagara.
The spirit award went to Jefferson.
At the event, Rotary officials also honored a field day legend. Ray Lacer, a custodian at Spottsville Elementary School who recently died, was made an honorary Rotarian.
According to Rotary officials, Lacer coached the Spottsville tug-of-war team 51 years and won the event 50 times. That’s an unprecedented dynasty in any sport.
