Two men were found dead at Ellis Park early Tuesday morning, according to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office.
A release from the sheriff’s office said at about 12:35 a.m. emergency personnel arrived on the backside of Ellis Park and found a deceased man in his apartment.
Personnel then learned that the deceased man had been out with another person earlier in the night, and when they went to his apartment, that man was dead, too, said the release.
Sheriff Chip Stauffer said that the cause of the deaths is probably drug-related.
The sheriff’s office release said that foul play is not suspected.
Stauffer said both men’s bodies were taken to the state medical examiner’s office in Louisville for an autopsy.
The Henderson County Coroner’s Office said the men’s names had not been released as of Tuesday evening because the office had not yet been able to notify their families.
The Deaconess Ambulance Service, Baskett Fire Department and Spottsville Fire Department were also dispatched to the racecourse.
