One lane of northbound South Green Street will be closed at times May 26-28

After Memorial Day, Phase 1 of a Henderson Municipal Power & Light project that will see the replacement of power poles will begin, according to information from HMP&L.

The project will start at the U.S. 41-A/Borax Drive intersection with South Green Street and run northbound on South Green Street to Sand Lane. At times, one lane of northbound South Green Street will be closed to accommodate the work between May 26-May 28.

On Tuesday, the intersection with Canoe Creek Drive will be down to one lane while power pole replacement is completed at the intersection, said HMP&L.

Residents in that subdivision may want to consider an alternate route via Arrow Way over to Sand Lane on Tuesday, said HMP&L.

City will remove docks

The city of Henderson said Friday that the downtown boat ramp docks will be temporarily removed because of the forecasted rise in the Ohio River level.  This temporary removal is to protect the docks from damage, said the city’s Facebook post.

City crews will continue to monitor river levels and will reinstall the docks as soon as possible, said the post.

Students awarded bicycles for perfect attendance

Two Henderson County High School students who had perfect attendance in the 2025-2026 school year were awarded bicycles.

According to a Facebook post from HCS, “These dedicated students didn’t miss a single minute of school. That is some serious commitment!”

According to the post, the Henderson County Masonic Lodge donated the bicycles for the HCS attendance raffle.
