Audubon Kids Zone children were treated to free milkshakes courtesy of the Dairiette on Tuesday afternoon.
The treat for about 45 kids was the idea of the Atkinson Street fixture owner, Henry Sugg, who contacted AKZ board member Ron Alexander with the idea.
Alexander responded, “Henry, that’s a lot of kids.”
Sugg said he didn’t mind. He told the Hendersonian that he has great respect for how AKZ works with children and called it “an amazing organization.”
“I’m very impressed with them,” he said. “They’re all great people.” And the kids “deserve something to be done for them,” he said.
They were appreciative. In interviews with the Hendersonian, three AKZ students—Jeremiah Norris, Gavin Sale and Benjamin Marshall—described the milkshakes as the best in Henderson.
“They’re good,” Marshall said.
