OWENSBORO, KY – Veterans from the region, including Henderson, are invited to attend the Annual Veterans Fair from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 8, at the Owensboro Sportscenter.

The event is being coordinated by the Audubon Area Community Services in partnership with UnitedHealthcare.

It’s free.

It’s open to all veterans, active-duty military personnel, retired military members, National Guard members, Reservists and military families, said a release from Audubon Area Community Services. No reservations are required. Veterans wishing to enroll in VA Healthcare should bring a DD214.

Vendors representing educational, employment, financial, health and service-related resources will be available to answer questions, provide guidance and connect attendees with programs designed to enhance quality of life and support long-term well-being.

More than 20 organizations and agencies have already confirmed their participation, including:

  • UnitedHealthcare
  • American Legion
  • V.E.T.
  • She is the V.E.T.
  • Brain Injury Association of Kentucky
  • Comfort Keepers
  • Daviess County Sheriff’s Office
  • James H. Davis Funeral Home
  • Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory
  • Sunset Elder Law
  • Epilepsy Foundation of Kentucky
  • Elevate Health
  • Green River Area Development District (GRADD)
  • Henderson County Public Library
  • Hives for Heroes
  • Kentucky Career Center
  • Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Eight departments from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Commonwealth of Kentucky Veterans Hall of Fame
  • National Vet Help
  • RiverValley Behavioral Health
  • Wendell Foster
  • All Audubon Area Community Services programs and departments

In addition to connecting attendees with essential resources, the event will feature free haircuts, refreshments, door prizes, and giveaways throughout the day.

“We are grateful to UnitedHealthcare for presenting this year’s Veterans Fair and helping make this event possible,” said Faith Holley, Outreach Coordinator for Audubon Area Community Services. “Veterans have sacrificed so much in service to our nation. This event is our opportunity to bring together organizations that can help them access the benefits, support, and opportunities they have earned. Whether someone is seeking healthcare, employment, education, legal assistance, financial guidance, or simply a chance to connect with fellow veterans, we encourage them to attend.”

The Annual Veterans Fair continues to be one of the region’s largest gatherings of veteran-focused organizations, creating a convenient and welcoming environment where veterans and military families can learn about services available to them in one location.

For more information, contact Nathalie Munoz, RSVP Coordinator at 270-683-1589, or Meredith Young, AmeriCorps Seniors Program Director, at 270-852-6502.
