‘Gnomes of Audubon Forest’ will be staged on Friday

The Henderson Area Arts Alliance is once again offering a free theater camp for area children that will culminate in a free performance Friday afternoon.

Dozens of children ages five through 18 started rehearsals at the Preston Arts Center on Monday. They will rehearse at the theater camp daily until Friday, when the show titled “Gnomes of Audubon Forest” will be performed at 4 p.m.

The play is based on a Henderson Tourist Commission and Audubon State Park attraction at the park of the same name.

The performance is free but donations to HAAA are accepted.

For more information, call 270-826-5916 or email info@haaa.org.

Henderson Dust Bowl this week

The Henderson Dust Bowl started Monday night at the John F. Kennedy Center and will continue through Saturday night.

Basketball squads from around the tri-state area will play games each evening at the center. Reportedly several division one basketball players are participating as well as high school players from Henderson County High School and other high schools.
