Waldrop puts exclamation on regular season with two grand slams, a two-run homer and 10 RBI
The Flash finished the regular season at 27-11 and won the Ohio Valley League regular season championship. The Flash have a bye and will begin postseason play on Friday at Park Field.
Four players were named to the 2026 All-OVL team: OF Gunnar Waldrop, INF Peyton Tatum, INF Brayden Mineo, and C Dom Davis.
Henderson Flash 16, Fulton Railroaders 6
July 18–Gunnar Waldrop delivered a massive performance in the regular season finale as the Flash beat the Railroaders 16-6 in seven innings. Waldrop started by hitting a grand slam in the fourth inning, followed by a two-run homer in the fifth. He wasn’t finished, as he hit another grand slam in the sixth.
Waldrop finished 3-for-4 with three home runs and 10 RBI. Both marks are Henderson Flash records. Clark Gries added three RBI of his own. Luke Parr started, allowing two runs over 2.1 innings while striking out five. Drew Isenberg threw three innings of one-run ball to earn the victory on the mound.
Henderson Flash 4, Full Count Rhythm 5
July 17–The Flash lost 5-4 to the Rhythm on a walk-off hit on July 17. Henderson got a run in the fourth when Peyton Tatum scored on a single by Brayden Mineo. In the seventh, Gunnar Waldrop singled to drive in Drew Isenberg. The Flash scored twice in the eighth to tie the game before losing on the walk-off hit in the ninth.
Mineo went 4-for-5 with an RBI. Waldrop, Isenberg, and Tyler Rinehart each added an RBI as well. Palmer Schiff allowed four runs in two innings as the starter. Riken Burkett took the loss after tossing 6.2 innings allowing just one unearned run and striking out five.
Henderson Flash 11, Hoptown Hoppers 0
July 15–Henderson bounced back in a big way after losing the first game of the doubleheader with an 11-0 win over Hoptown. Brayden Mineo and Gunnar Waldrop each hit a two-run home run in the third inning to open up the scoring. As part of another four-run inning, Waldrop drove in two more runs in the fourth inning as Noah Briggs and Tyler Rinehart scored on a single to center field. Three more runs scored in the sixth inning to seal the shutout victory.
Waldrop was 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored. Mineo finished with three RBI. Noah Briggs was 2-for-3 with two RBI. Kiefer Parsons was the winning pitcher as he struck out seven over 5.1 scoreless innings. Luke Parr finished the game with 1.2 scoreless innings to preserve the shutout.
Henderson Flash 5, Hoptown Hoppers 7
July 15–The Hoppers came out on top in the first game of the doubleheader, scoring all seven runs in the first three innings. The Flash tried to keep pace, but were unable. In the second, Jacob Froehlich singled to score Clark Gries. Froehlich then came in to score on a triple by Tyler Rinehart. Henderson would score once in the third, fifth, and sixth innings, including a home run by Gunnar Waldrop, but it would not be enough as Hoptown won 7-5.
Froehlich was 3-for-3 with two RBI. Waldrop was 2-for-4 with a homer and two runs scored. Brayden Mineo and Rinehart each had an RBI. Bryce Humprey was the losing pitcher after allowing five earned runs in just one inning of work. Seth Galloway threw two scoreless innings in relief. Egan Prather added 1.2 scoreless frames.
Henderson Flash 14, Fulton Railroaders 10
July 14–The Flash scored double-digit runs for the third game in a row to beat the Railroaders, 14-10. Seven of those runs came in the first two innings. Gunnar Waldrop hit a solo homer in the second inning. Though Fulton would keep battling, a big fifth inning would put the game out of reach for good. Cooper Vowels hit a two-run bomb, immediately followed by a solo shot by Waldrop, his second of the game. Tyler Rinehart also tripled in the inning to score Noah Briggs. The Flash scored its final two runs in the eighth inning.
Waldrop finished 2-for-6 with the two homers. Rinehart was 4-for-6 with two RBI and two runs. Vowels homered and drove in four runs for the game. Jacob Froehlich scored three times and had two RBI. Seth Galloway earned the win in relief allowing one earned run in 2.1 innings. Zach Mason struck out five to earn a three-inning save.
Henderson Flash 12, Full Count Rhythm 2
July 13–Henderson stole 10 bases in an eight-inning rout of the Full Count Rhythm. Full Count took an early 1-0 lead, but in the third Jacob Froehlich singled to score Peyton Tatum. Brayden Mineo scored on a wild pitch, then Noah Briggs hit a sacrifice fly to bring in Froehlich. The Flash scored two more runs in the fifth before putting up a six-spot in the seventh. The big plays were when Dom Davis drove in Tatum and Gunnar Waldrop with a double. Then Jacob Tucker hit a double of his own to bring Drew Isenberg and Cooper Vowels home. A bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the eighth would be the game-ending run as the Flash grabbed a 12-2 victory.
Tatum was 3-for-4 with three runs and three steals. Tucker, Davis, Froehlich, and Briggs each collected two RBI. Reed Rheinhardt struck out six and allowed just one unearned run over six innings to pick up the win.
Henderson Flash 18, Madisonville Miners 5
July 12–A 10-run sixth inning helped lead the Flash past the Miners in an 18-5 win. Tyler Rinehart hit a two-run homer in the third inning. The plays that did the most damage were a two-run single by Jacob Froehlich to drive in Jacob Tucker and Noah Briggs. Gunnar Waldrop collected three RBI on a double to score Rinehart, Robert Hicks, and Cooper Vowels. Tucker contributed a two-run dinger of his own to cap the scoring in the sixth.
Briggs and Dom Davis each had three hits in the game. Rinehart had four RBI, while Waldrop had four. Tucker finished with the home run, two RBI, and four runs scored. Palmer Schiff was the winning pitcher, allowing three runs, one earned, over 4.2 innings. Mercer Krantz struck out two in a scoreless inning. Drew Isenberg added 1.1 innings, allowing no hits or runs.
