
Mary Anna Delsey Gregory Terry, born on Dec. 14, 1940, in Hebbardsville, Kentucky, passed peacefully on Friday morning, January 24, 2025, at Redbanks in Henderson. Mary will be remembered as a very loving Christian woman and her unwavering love was felt by family, friends, and strangers alike.
Mary loved cooking, walking, traveling, and most of all she loved God and her family. Mary reinstated the food pantry was a member of the Mothers Board at First Missionary Baptist Church and served on various organizations in the church. Mary was a teacher assistant within the Henderson County School System and worked in the HeadStart Program at Hyland Baptist Church in Henderson. Also, Mary was the co-owner of Bright Supply Cleaning Company in Henderson. Mary retired from King, Deep and Branaman in Henderson. Mary was loved throughout the community and made a positive impact on anyone that crossed her path.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Gregory and Anna Hatchett Gregory; her brothers, Melvin Gregory, Preston Gregory, Roy Gregory, Leon Gregory, Lockett Gregory and George Gregory; and sisters, Nora Gregory, Dora Gregory and Dorothy Coleman; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Preston.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Melvin Terry, Jr., of 65 years; daughter, Cynthia Terry; and sons, Gary Terry, Kim (Faye) Terry, Brian (Tammy) Terry, and Scott (Theresa) Terry; grandchildren Chad (Ebony) Terry, Thomas Harris, Jordan Terry, Jalen Terry, Josh Terry, Ryan Terry, Jesse Terry, Taylor (Korbin) Trible, Kyla Terry, Scott Terry, Jr., Briana Terry, Chante Terry; great-grandchildren, Robin Harris, Kace Poindexter, Angelo Trible, Arya Ritter, Oliver Ritter, Santana Terry and Zendaya Mwiinga; a sister-in-law, Barbara Butler; a host of nieces and nephews; and a special cousin, Dorothy Ann Baker, whom she loved talking with on the phone. Mary will be dearly missed!
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 noon Friday, Jan. 31, at the First Missionary Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at noon at the church. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery.
