Tacoholics wins judge’s choice chili cook-off
Tacoholics won the Chamber of Commerce’s annual chili-cookoff Saturday in downtown Henderson.
It was the third time since 2019, when the Chamber began hosting the event, that Tacoholics won the judge’s choice contest at the chili-cook-off, said Clay Gillham, the chamber executive director. She said this competition is picked by “blind judges.” She said judges are given cups of chili with numbers on them, and their top choices are averaged to come up with the winner.
Second place went to Hometown Hospitality and third place went to Independence Bank, Gillham said.
A second competition of the cook-off is the people’s choice award, which, in essence, is determined by the amount of money people donate to their favorite chili. The people’s choice this year went to Independence Bank/New Hope Animal Sanctuary, Gillham said.
