Kingston Shidler | Football | Athlete of the Week for week ending Sept. 6

Shidler rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries in Henderson’s 19-16 win over Henry Clay on Friday night. The junior running back’s performance included long runs of 33 yards and 37 yards, as the Colonels picked up their first win of the season.

Head Coach John Elliott: “We were counting on Kingston to do what he did tonight. It’s a credit to him and the offensive line.“

Kingston on his mentality and performance: “Just keep running. Run through people. We played better tonight and played with 100 percent effort. I’m grateful to be selected. I want to thank my teammates, especially my offensive line for creating gaps and doing their jobs to set me up for success. It was a great game we played. I was patient and ran hard to get in the end zone.”
