Ella Whitledge | Volleyball | Athlete of the Week for week ending Oct. 4

The senior libero was instrumental on the court as the Lady Colonels picked up three more region wins this past week.  In their three victories, the defensive specialist Whitledge collected an impressive 96 digs, six assists, five aces and a kill. She has been a reliable mainstay for HCHS all season and figures to play an important role as they head down the stretch and enter the postseason.

Whitledge on her great week: “I’m so grateful for being considered for Athlete of the Week! Overall, this season has been pretty steady throughout most games and we’ve been able to pull out the win. But this week we’ve faced many battles, with one of them being Elizabethtown who’s ranked as one of the top teams in the state. I’m proud of my team for being able to hold our own against them and for not losing the fight within ourselves even when knowing the competition we were up against. I’m looking forward to finishing the season strong and getting ready for the postseason.”
