Henderson County Swimming | Athletes of the Week for the week ending Feb. 7

After facing two postponements due to weather, Henderson County Colonels Swimming enjoyed major success at the Region One Championships. The boys team claimed the overall championship, while the girls team finished as runners-up. Head Coach Melanie Mays was named the Region One Boys Coach of the Year.

At the end of the same week, the teams moved on to participate in the first round of the State Championship where the boys 400-yard Freestyle team of Max Mays, Caden Boggess, Seth Boggess, and Boone Thompson finished in fifth place (3:34.16). They will move on to compete in the State Finals at the University of Kentucky’s Lancaster Aquatic Center on February 20 and 21.
