The Henderson Breakfast Lions’ annual Tri-Fest signals both that springtime has arrived locally and the start of the festival season here.

The 38th annual festival will run April 17-19.

One big change this year will be a drone show, instead of the traditional Friday fireworks display, said James Peden, a festival organizer. The drone show is scheduled for 9 p.m. Friday, April 17, at the Riverfront.

Aside from the drone show, the festival will include all the food and rides festival-goers come back for year after year.

There will also be the Habitat for Humanity/Breakfast Lions Club 5K run and walk which starts at 8 a.m. Saturday. It’s almost as long of a tradition as the Tri-Fest—this year will be the 34th annual run and walk.

Attendees will also have a chance to hear live music on Friday and Saturday nights on the Main Stage in Central Park. That entertainment begins at 5:30 p.m. both nights.

On Friday and Saturday, food booths and carnival rides open at 11 a.m. On Sunday, they open at noon. The festival ends at 5 p.m. Sunday.
