Jury finds Henderson man guilty of sodomy of a minor
A Henderson Circuit Court jury found that a Henderson man guilty of third-degree sodomy after returning a verdict Wednesday night.
William Leachman, Jr., 56, had sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old boy in May/June of 2025, according to a release from the Henderson County Commonwealth’s Attorney Herb McKee, Jr.’s, office.
It is a Class D felony. The jury set the punishment at two years, Leachman will be formally sentenced in April.
Leachman will also be required to complete sex offender treatment and to be a registered sex offender for a 20-year period, said the release.
The release also gave thanks to Henderson Police Department detectives, the commonwealth’s attorney victim advocate, staff, and volunteers, and it also asked for the survivor’s and family’s continued healing.
KYTC will close Rockhouse Road on Wednesday
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close KY 2678—Rockhouse Road—near Robards for a single day on Wednesday, Feb. 18, to allow crews to replace a damaged culvert and perform ditching work, according to a KYTC release.
The closure will affect the entire length of KY 2678, which runs between U.S. 41 and KY 2096, which is approximately 0.7 miles.
Those needing to detour around the closure should use KY 416 to the north or KY 2097 to the south, said the release.
KYTC encourages motorists to plan ahead, follow posted detour signs, and use caution when traveling in the area.
