Henderson legislators presented checks to fund the construction of a conference center at Audubon State Park at Monday’s Friends of Audubon board meeting.
The money, which was approved during the spring’s Kentucky General Assembly, includes $2.8 million for and $500,000 for improvements to the park’s campground.
The Hendersonian reported on the funding in April. Read that article here.
Radio control airplane club to host fly-in
The Henderson Radio Control Model Airplane Club will host its annual Fall Fly-in Event at the Sandy Lee Watkins Park, 16040 Kentucky 351 near Hebbardsville, on Sept. 11-13.
This event is open to the public to come and watch, ask questions and learn about R/C flying.
Organizers say the best time to visit should be between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, and Saturday, Sept. 12, and until about 3 or 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13.
In past year the event has drawn 30 to 35 pilots from five or more states, and around noon Saturday there should be more than 100 radio control models on the flight line to observe.
