Fire appearing to be contained to equipment over the Ohio River broke out at the grain elevator on South Main Street in Henderson around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Smoke was seen billowing from a conveyor belt and below it a large pylon, and at times when the smoke cleared, flames were seen shooting up.
Several Henderson Fire Department trucks moved into the fenced area near the grain bins, and firefighters sprayed the fire from the shore.
From chatter at the scene, early indications are that no one was injured or in danger.
The grain bin loading and unloading company was formerly called Gavilon Grain.
At 3:25 p.m., water was still being sprayed on the converyor belt, but the fire appeared to be extinguished.
