The Henderson Kentucky Education Foundation is hosting two events on March 7 and 8 to benefit the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Henderson County.

On March 7, HKEF will host the 2026 Storybook Gala, and on March 8, Storybook Children’s Party. See more information provided by HKEF below.

Years ago, Henderson County proudly launched the first Imagination Library chapter in Kentucky, ensuring thousands of local children receive free, high-quality books mailed directly to their homes each month. While the books themselves are donated through the national program, local funding is required to cover shipping and administrative costs, making community support essential to keeping the program strong, according to an HKEF release.

2026 Storybook Gala

Saturday, March 7, 2026 | 7:00–10:00 p.m. Henderson County Public Library

Guests are invited to step into a night where stories sparkle, and imagination takes center stage at this Dolly Parton–inspired gala celebrating literacy, creativity, and generosity.

Attendees are encouraged to channel their inner Dolly with glitter, sequins, sparkle, and shine, honoring confidence and creativity in true Dolly fashion. The evening will feature appetizers and desserts curated and provided by Cap & Cork, a cash bar, and a signature Dolly Parton–inspired cocktail created exclusively for the event.

Tickets are $45 per person, or guests may purchase a sponsor table for $500. Proceeds support Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library through the Henderson County Education Foundation.

Stories, Sparkles, and Fun! Children’s Party

Sunday, March 8, 2026 | 2:00–4:00 p.m. Henderson County Public Library Tickets: $10 per child

Families are invited back to the library for a magical afternoon designed just for kids. Children are encouraged to dress as their favorite storybook character, princess, or superhero, and enjoy an afternoon filled with creativity, stories, and sweet treats.

Activities will include:

  • Crafts and hands-on activities
  • Snacks and treats
  • A celebration of imagination, literacy, and creativity

Table Sponsorship Opportunity: $150 per table, which includes 8 tickets and sponsorship recognition.

All proceeds from both events benefit Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Henderson County, helping ensure children across the community continue to receive the gift of books and develop a lifelong love of reading.

Together, the Henderson County Education Foundation and community supporters are turning generosity into stories—one book, one child, and one imagination at a time.
