One man is dead and another has been injured after a shooting incident in Henderson County near Waverly, according to a Henderson County Sheriff’s Office release.
The men’s names were not released. The deceased is a 35-year-old and the injured is 40, according to the release.
Deputies responded to the 13000 block of Ranch Road, a Waverly address near Smith Mills, at about midnight Sunday morning, said the release.
Upon arrival, deputies found the 35-year-old had died. The other man was transported to the hospital, said the release.
The release said “Suspect(s) involved in the shooting” fled the scene before deputies arrived, but the “suspect(s)” were identified and later apprehended and taken into custody.
The sheriff’s office reported that witnesses told them a disagreement occurred prior to the shooting.
