Henderson Flash 10, Fulton Railroaders 6
June 13—In its second game against the Railroaders this week, the Flash used a big sixth inning to win their fourth game in a row. The big plays of the inning were a two-run single by Gunnar Waldrop and a three-run home run by Noah Briggs. Tyler Rinehart added a solo shot in the ninth inning to help give Henderson the 10-6 victory.
Waldrop finished the game 2-for-5 with four RBI. Briggs was 1-for-3 with the home run and three RBI. Bryce Hayden collected three hits and a run as well. Travis Combs started the game, giving up three runs over two innings. Riken Burkett pitched four innings in relief, allowing just one earned run for the win. Zach Mason pitched the final three innings allowing two runs.
The Flash currently sit at 8-5 on the season and are in third place in the Ohio Valley League.
Henderson Flash 5, Paducah Chiefs 3
June 12—A late rally helped the Flash earn another comeback victory as they defeated the Paducah Chiefs, 5-3, for their third straight win. The Chiefs opened up a 2-0 lead in the first inning before both lineups went cold. Then in the sixth, a hit batter and a walk followed by a single, scored the first run for Flash. Then, a passed ball, a wild pitch, and another single gave Henderson a 3-2 lead. It was short-lived as the Chiefs tied it in the bottom half of the inning. The Flash would score the winning runs in the eighth inning as Robert Hicks scored on a double by Keegan Gulley before Clark Gries scored on a sacrifice fly by Mason Lester to lock in the final 5-3 score.
Gulley went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Jacob Froehlich was 2-for-5 with an RBI. Reed Rhenhardt started on the mound, throwing 5.1 innings and allowed three earned runs. Ashton Tindle got the win after pitching 2.2 innings of shutout baseball. Mason Bratcher picked up the save with a scoreless ninth.
Henderson Flash 15, Fulton Railroaders 5
June 11—The Flash used 14 hits and four home runs to blow out the Fulton Railroaders, 15-5. Henderson scored in every inning, including a five-run fourth and a four-run fifth, triggering the mercy rule after seven innings.
Cooper Vowels led the long-ball barrage, going 2-for-3 with two home runs. Peyton Tatum was 3-for-4 with a double, a homer and three RBI. Jacob Froehlich went 2-for-4, also with a double and a homer, while collecting four RBI. Clark Gries picked up the win, going 5.2 innings, giving up three earned runs and striking out three.
Henderson Flash 7, Full Count Rhythm 4
June 10—After a scheduled off day Monday and an unexpected break on Tuesday due to weather, the Flash were back in action Wednesday night hosting the Rhythm at Park Field. Henderson used clutch hitting and strong pitching to pick up the win. After falling behind 3-0, in the first inning, the Flash scored three runs each in the fifth and seventh innings, as well as one in the eighth to complete the comeback win 7-4.
Gunnar Waldrop had the hot bat going 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and four RBI in the game. Jacob Froehlich and Tyler Rinehart each added solo homers of their own. Payton Helmerich began the game and threw 4.2 innings of three-run ball while striking out five. Egan Prather pitched 3.1 innings in relief, striking out five while allowing just one run to pick up the win. Palmer Schiff tossed a scoreless ninth inning with two strikeouts to earn the save.
Henderson Flash 11, Madisonville Miners 13
June 7—It was a high-scoring affair as the Flash traveled to Madisonville to take on the Miners. Henderson opened up an 11-5 lead after the fifth inning but would not score again as the Miners rallied late in the game. With two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Mason Schneider hit a three-run walk-off home run to center field to give the Miners the 13-11 victory.
For the Flash, Peyton Tatum went 3-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI. Clark Gries went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI. Tyler Rinehart hit a pinch-hit, three-run home run in the fifth inning. Mason Bratcher started the game, going five innings and allowing five earned runs. Mason Lester suffered the loss, allowing three earned runs over two innings.
