The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced Thursday evening an emergency closure of the northbound lane on US-60 at approximately 602 South Green Street in Henderson in front of the old Jefferson Elementary School.

A water main break caused the road to partially collapse, said a news release from the KYTC.

City of Henderson Public Information Officer Holli Blanford sent out a release Friday that said crews are working on the problem, and motorists should expect the right lane of northbound traffic to remain closed until Monday.

For real-time traffic updates, travelers can use the free WAZE app or visit ky.gov. Additional snow and ice resources are available at snowky.ky.gov, providing priority route maps, tips, and highway district update.
