Floyd wins Women’s Leaders in Insurance award
Women Leaders in Insurance awarded the 2025 Cissy Musselman Women’s Leadership Award to Whitney Floyd, President of Latta Insurance in Henderson, said a release from the organization.
Floyd received the award during the association’s 2025 Annual Conference on June 10 at the Gheens Foundation Lodge at The Parklands in Louisville.
The Cissy Musselman Women’s Leadership Award is given to a woman currently or previously employed in the insurance industry with at least 10 years of experience. This individual holds a leadership role with significant professional success and leadership skills. This person projects a positive influence, is known for her competent abilities within the industry and is viewed as a role model/mentor for other women, said the release.
“Whitney is my boss, but better yet, she is my leader,” said Nicole Smith, who is employed by Latta Insurance. “I have the pleasure of working in an agency with a culture like no other. She is the kindest, most caring and compassionate person who leads her team every day with a smile on her face. She approaches every situation respectfully. I’ve watched her day in and day out put her team above herself. Not many can say they trust in their leader, look up to them, hope to be as successful and humble as them, but I do.”
Floyd has more than 20 years of experience in the industry and is currently the Big “I” National Director for Kentucky and served previously as the Big “I” Chair for Kentucky. She recently won the Volunteer of the Year award for Women in Business in Henderson and has previously served as president (and co-founder) of the Henderson Rotaract Club. She is also a board member of the Henderson Community College Foundation.
